Registration for the 2025-26 School Year is now open.
UIC Band Festival a success!
The Wind Ensemble had a great trip to the UIC band festival on Friday 3/14. They performed well and had a great clinic with the band director from DePaul. We made some great memories and the kids made us proud in not just how they played, but how they behaved and treated others. Thanks to the Educational Foundation for sponsoring such an awesome opportunity!
2025 - 2026 Kindergarten Registration
Our Kindergarten registration will be from the end of March through early April. Families registering their incoming kindergarteners must still register in person. Our in-person registration days are March 24 - 28 and April 7 - 11. Click the SignUp Genius button below to reserve your registration time.
When coming in for registration, please bring the following items:
- Child's Birth Certificate
- Proof of Residency (Click the link for required documents)
- Picture of your child

Western Springs Math Olympiad 2025
The Highlands Math Team participated in the Western Springs Olympiad last Saturday. Over 120 competitors from 4th through 8th grade completed both individual and team tests. The Hornets were fierce and were able to secure at least one place winner in each grade category:
Overall Third place winner 5th Grade: Richard Molina
In 6th grade, there was a tie for 3rd: Naoka Obara, Norah Kwong, and Evan Bender. The second-place winner was Sasha Andreska, and the overall 1st place winner was Grayson Balash. In the 7th and 8th grade competition, Jessie Janiak secured third place.
Congratulations to ALL our participants!

Follow Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the Witch as they travel “Into the Woods.”
A Baker and his Wife have been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door. They embark on a quest to gather special objects required to break the spell, and face the consequences of the decisions they make along their journey.
Led by Mrs. Stephanie Jost, a cast and crew of over 100 students will inspire you with a unique story of discovery and adventure.

Students vs. Staff Volleyball Game
Mr. Platt's homeroom class collected over 100 pairs of socks for donation, and won a chance to face off against staff for a friendly game of volleyball! Way to go Mr. Platt's homeroom!
