ECE monthly Team Update
We ended the year learning about Gardens. So many things grow around us. We learned about the different things that grow in a garden. Vegetables, flowers and fruits too! We learned about the parts of a plant. We observed seeds growing and learned about what they need to grow, soil water and sun. It was a good lesson in patience waiting for our seeds to sprout.
Just as our seeds have grown, so have we this year. We've learned a lot, tried new things, made new friends. We're sad to see the school year end, but excited for summer adventures!

ECE Monthly Team Update
This month we are turning our attention to Pets. There are so many different animals that we can have as pets. They can have fur, feathers, or even scales. We are learning what pets need to be taken care of and what types of homes and supplies they need to live with us. We are enjoying meeting our classmates pets (and favorite stuffed animals) through pictures in our room.
We've been noticing and enjoying different signs of spring, and enjoying the nicer weather that come with it. Later in the month we are looking forward to a visit from thre Traveling World of Reptiles to get to see and meet some animals face to face!

ECE monthly Team Update
A new month brought an exciting new theme - Tubes and Tunnels! Tubes and tunnels are all around us everyday. Some people work with tubes like plumbers and we like to play in our tunnels in gym or on the playground. We will spend the month being on the lookout for different tubes and tunnels.
We are using tubes for different art projects and to explore in the classroom. Tubes can be used for art, as a tunnel to drive our cars through and anything else we can imagine. We've noticed some tubes already in our rooms - binoculars, straws, droppers and even markers.

This month ECE turns their energy to all things exercise! We are learning about why we need exercise, the different ways we can exercise, and how to keep our bodies healthy. We have been trying out jumping, running, stretching and even climbing to make our muscles stronger. We need to eat healthy foods to keep our bodies moving and give us energy to move too. There is special equipment to learn about and ways to stay safe when we exercise too.
The Winter Olympics happening right now is a big inspiration for some of the sports we have been trying our hands at. We are looking forward to having our own Olympics with our grown ups at their next visit. Exercise is good for you and fun too!

We are exploring building with boxes, measuring them and packing up andd pretending to ship things in our classrooms. While boxes have many practical uses, we can also use our imaginations to make them in to anything we want!

We are learning about the four different Instrument families: woodwinds, percussion, strings and brass. There will be instruments to explore and even try to create our own. Next up will be our study of bread. We will be learning how bread is made, different kinds of bread from around the world and the different forms that bread can look like. Pizza is usually a favorite of many of our students. Bread is delicious and nutritious and we are looking forward to learning more about this tasty food.
