Governor Pritzker released the Restore Illinois plan which outlines the various phases of reopening public life. Our plan for re-opening is based on the Restore Illinois document, as well as guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois State Board of Education. It can be viewed by clicking the links at the bottom of this page.

Health & Safety Considerations

  • Require use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including face coverings
  • Prohibit more than 50 individuals from gathering in one space
  • Require social distancing be observed, as much as possible (3-6 ft between desks)
  • Require that schools track symptom screenings and temperature checks by having individuals self-certify that they are free of symptoms before entering school buildings
  • Require an increase in schoolwide cleaning and disinfection

    Guiding Principles

  • Safety & health of students & staff
  • Engaging learning experiences for students
