Board of Education: April Board Meeting Review

District 106 Community:

Tonight the D106 Board of Education held it’s regularly scheduled meeting for the month of April. The district recognized the 20-21 SCOTY(School Citizen of the Year) winners, Sophia Losavio (8th Grade) and Abrielle Welsh (4th Grade).  SCOTY awards are presented annually to students in both elementary and middle schools who display outstanding citizenship both at school and in the community.  

Katie Hannigan was introduced as the new Director of Finance and Operations.  Katie comes from Downers Grove District 58, where she was the Manager of Business Services.  Katie will replace Mike Duback, and will start her duties with D106 on July 1, 2021. 

Ali Beiermeister presented the board with a current learning update, an update to summer school learning and insight as to what the 21-22 school year might look like in the fall. To view the presentation, please click here

Mike Duback presented the tentative amended budget for 2021-22 which was approved by the board.  

Saliva screening will continue through the end of the school year for students. D106 staff will no longer be required to provide a saliva screening if they are vaccinated.
