e-Learning: Welcome Back!
Published by Dr. Warke on Mar 29, 2020

Dear Highlands Families and Staff,

Welcome back from Spring Break and to our second week of e-Learning implementation! Our staff were busy over break preparing lessons for our children for the upcoming week. The health, safety, and well-being of our students, staff, and families continues to be a priority for us in 106.

As you know, the situation with COVID-19 remains fluid. The recommendations of staying at home, social distancing, and washing your hands are our most significant preventative measures for keeping ourselves and others around us healthy.

I have some information to share with you. Over the weekend, we were notified that a staff member's spouse has tested positive for COVID-19. They began showing symptoms on March 20, 2020, a week after we dismissed from school on March 13, 2020. Our staff member nor anyone else in the family is exhibiting any symptoms at this time. They are self-quarantining and taking care of themselves.

Conversations continue between the Lyons Township superintendents as we approach our anticipated date of return, which is set for April 7. We will provide you with updated information as soon as we have additional information to share. We continue to look to the guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) the Cook County Health Department and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

You can continue to find information about our e-Learning plan and additional updates during our closure on our website or by clicking here. Our most recent communications are located here, and we are updating any resources we find to this page as well.
