Dear Highlands Families,
To safeguard the health and wellness of students, staff, and the community we have decided to close District 106 schools to students beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, with a projected return of Tuesday, April 7, 2020 (this reflects a one week period following spring break and anticipated travel from our community). This is a dynamic situation and the return to school date may change. The Lyons Township superintendents have collaborated on our closure plans and are aligned with one another.
There is a great deal of information to share with families and I have done my best to organize the information in an easy to read format. Please read all the information and contact me with any questions you may have. Please know, at this point, we are not aware of any confirmed cases of coronavirus in our schools.

Lunch Pick Up
We will have sack lunch pick up in the District Office Vestibule on Monday, March 16 and 30 and Wednesday, March 18 and April 1, from 11 to 1 for any family who needs to access this service.
Center for Disease Control Website
Please know that there is no playbook for how to handle a global pandemic and we are doing our best to make decisions that are in the best interest of our students and staff in a very fluid and fast-moving situation. We will continue to be in contact with the Illinois and Cook County Departments of Public Health, as well as our partner school districts and our local villages as we continue to make the best decisions possible for our students and families.
