Michael Duback began serving as the District 106 Director of Operations in 2017. In his role, he oversees the district’s financial and accounting functions; student food services; employee contracts, compensation, and benefits; organizational liability and insurance; and other operational needs. Michael came to District 106 after serving in senior leadership roles in both the Business Services and Teaching & Learning departments in Yorkville Community Unit School District 115. Prior to these administrative experiences, he spent six years as a high school teacher (calculus, statistics, and music theory), and as a teacher for the profoundly gifted at the elementary level.
Michael earned an M.S. in education and social policy from Northwestern University; an M.Ed. in educational leadership from Lewis University; and an M.B.A. from Concordia University Chicago, where he also earned his Certified School Business Official (CSBO) designation.
Michael lives in New Lenox with his wife, Kim, who is an advanced practice hematology/oncology nurse, and their children, Andrew and Evelyn.
