| Middle School: Mr. Zeman's 8th Grade Science Classes Track Paper Savings - Updated |
  Mr. Zeman's 8th grade science classes have really taken advantage of the opportunity that the one-to-one laptop program has offered to cut down on the amount of paper used for classroom projects and activities. To see how much they can save this year, they have begun tracking the paper savings and will be posting their data periodically. 12,000 sheets of paper will save a small tree. WAY TO GO 8TH GRADE!!
Updated: As of 9/26/08, students have saved over 2000 pages.

| District Office News: New District 106 Preschool Program |
 james writes "LaGrange Highlands School District 106 Preschool For All Program:
Beginning with the 2008 – 2009 School Year, LaGrange Highlands will be hosting a new Early Childhood Program for residents of the school district. Children in the Preschool for All Early Childhood Program will be educated in the same classroom as preschoolers with identified disabilities. This program will be funded in part through an IL state grant written by the LaGrange Area Department of Special Education.

| Middle School: Nothing But Nets Service Project |
 The Service Club and the 7th and 8th grade girls' basketball players are teaming up to raise funds through bake sales at all our Highlands home basketball games. The money raised will go to the "Nothing But Nets" campaign to help purchase insecticide-treated bed nets for families in Africa to stop the spread of the deadly disease malaria.
